Production of fertiliser nutrient N at 1.030 million metric tonnes (MMT) and P2O5 at 0.321 MMT during February 2017 registered decline of 4.4% and 16%, respectively, over February 2016. All the major fertilisers registered decline in production during February 2017 over February 2016. Production of urea, DAP and NP/NPK complex fertilisers declined by 1.7%, 20.2% and 18%, respectively, during February 2017 over February 2016. Production of N and P2O5 fell short from the target by 45.2 thousand tonnes and 60 thousand tonnes, respectively, during February 2017. Capacity utilisation of N and P2O5 declined from 95.2% and 66.5% during February 2016 to 90.8% and 55.2%, respectively, during February 2017.
