Production of fertilizer nutrients increased during August 2020 over August 2019. Production of N at 1.243 million metric tonnes (MMT) and P2O5 at 0.420 MMT during August 2020 increased by 3.7% and 9.1%, respectively, over August 2019. Production of all the major fertilizer products increased during the same period. Production of urea increased by 2.5%, DAP by 1.9%, SSP by 23% and NP/NPK complex fertilizers by 11.4% during August 2020 over August 2019. Capacity utilization of N increased from 100.4% during August 2019 to 104.1% during August 2020. Similarly, capacity utilization of P2O5 improved from 65.6% to 71.2% during the same period. Production of N and P2O5 fell short from their respective targets by 65.8 thousand tonnes and 21.7 thousand tonnes, respectively, during the month.
