Operators at the Cucina Sano facility now need only pack until the green light comes on, without having to think about the actual weight The Rannoch Food Group has installed a factory-wide MES solution at its new Cucina Sano plant in Lincolnshire. The system provides control and management for the manufacturing site - from goods-in receipt, through manufacture to packaging and despatch. The facility produces salads, deli products and ready meals for retailers such as Marks & Spencer. Despite increases in automation, there is still a high level of manual assembly dependence in this sector and as retailers become more adventurous with their product offerings, demands on suppliers increase. Controlling and tracking the ingredient routings and their metamorphoses in real-time is a necessary task to optimise quality, productivity, profitability and traceability.
