摘要

With the 29 March edging ever closer, Mark Gray of Universal Robots encourages manufacturers to prepare for the impact that leaving the EU will have on their businesses, and how they can minimise damage by looking to automate their systems British manufacturers have fallen behind other developed countries in automation, ranking the lowest in robot density out of the G7 nations, indicating a severe need for investment in the sector. The lack of investment is thought to be partially due to the seemingly endless supply of EU labour however, following the announcement that Britain will be exiting the EU, an intense labour gap has opened up in the industry, resulting in unease among the nation's manufacturers regarding future investments. However, regardless of the outcome, manufacturers need to start planning ahead for whatever situation the industry may face following 29 March, in order to minimise the impact on their businesses.
