Eremophilas hybridise readily, with many hybrids being brought into cultivation. However, it is generally not possible to actively hybridise Eremophila, because seed setting is erratic and the plants themselves are difficult to grow from seed (refer article on page 329). Selection of hybrids for garden use generally occurs through finding a promising specimen in the wild or noticing something interesting already growing in a garden. Both these sources have generated many excellent garden specimens. Many are now available through nurseries.
