In its new medium-term management agenda that will start in fiscal 2020 (ending March 2021),Toray Industries,Inc.will continue to work on establishing its filament and staple fiber nonwovens business.With a focus on sanitary products,filters and automotives,the company aims to increase its sales of nonwovens by 20% in fiscal 2022 compared to fiscal 2019.In regard to materials for sanitary products such as disposable diapers,Toray will focus on sales of polypropylene spunbonded fabrics as new factories will be launched in China and India,with an aim to retain its position of being Asia's number-one polypropylene spunbonded fabric manufacturer.Utilizing the equipment for developing spunbonded fabrics introduced at the Shiga Plant (Otsu,Shiga Prefecture in Japan)in 2017,the differentiation of polypropylene spunbonded fabrics will be promoted in cooperation with Korean subsidiary Toray Advanced Materials Korea Inc.(TAK).
