Polyester Demand Sluggish,Prices Cut

Polyester demand has become extremely sluggish,forcing producers to cut their prices for April 2004 deliveries.Market-leader Reliance has cut its price of polyester staple fiber from Rs 65.50 per kg to Rs 63,while the price of POY was cut steeply from Rs 76 per kg to Rs 70.However,even at these levels Indian producers are earning handsome profits because of high anti-dumping duties.
