Santos outlines cost of PNG LNG third train

Australian independent Santos expects its share of costs for a planned third liq- uefaction train at the 6.9mn t/yr PNG LNG export venture in Papua New Guinea (PNG) to be $300mn-400mn over the three-year construction period. Around 60-70pc of the cost of development of the 2.66mn t/yr third liquefac- tion train is expected to be met through project fnancing, Santos says. Previous forecasts for LNG capacity expansions in the country - including the 5.3mn t/yr Papua LNG project - put the overall cost at $12bn-13bn.
