Japanese spot prices on the rise

Prices of Japanese spot LNG contracts agreed during June averaged $9.30/mn Btu, up by 13.4pc from $8.20/mn Btu a month earlier, according to a regular survey by Japan's trade and industry ministry Meti. There was no price report in June last year, when activity was too low for Meti to post a monthly spot price. The ministry's methodology requires that a minimum of two deals are done by two companies.
