Gazprom reveals south Kirinsky plans

Russian state-controlled Gazprom has revealed details of its development plan for the Sakhalin 3 project’s South Kirinsky feld - a potential source of natural gas for a planned third train at the Sakhalin 2 LNG plant. But the plan could be revised given that the final investment decision (FID) for the third train has not been taken. The frm plans to drill the frst production wells at South Kirinsky next year and produce frst gas in 2023, Gazprom offshore development division director Vadim Petrenko says. Six production wells - out of eight envisaged for the frst stage of the project - should be operating by this time. South Kirinsky contains just over 710bn m~3 of gas, 937mn bl of condensate and 30mn bl of crude.
