India’s Petronet to invest $7.5bn in US LNG

Indian state-controlled importer Petronet LNG has reached a preliminary deal to invest up to $7.5bn in US LNG developer Tellurian for up to 5mn t/yr of LNG, equivalent to 635mn ft~3/d (6.5bn m~3/yr). The supply would come from Tellurian’s planned Driftwood LNG export termi- nal near Carlyss, Louisiana. Petronet will invest $2.5bn in Tellurian and be respon- sible for paying $5bn in project debt, based on its 18pc stake, Tellurian says.
