Demand for LNG as a bunker fuel is expected to rise ninefold in the next fve years as tighter global sulphur rules drive new orders for containerships and cruise liners, the Paris-based IEA says. Demand could rise to 25,000 b/d of fuel oil equivalent in 2020, 55,000 b/d in 2022 and 90,000 b/d in 2024, from 10,000 b/d last year, the IEA says in its latest fve-year oil outlook.
