Cheniere, Apache sign unique LNG deal

US independent Apache this month signed the frst long-term deal under which a producer would sell feedgas intended for LNG production indexed to global gas prices, rather than US Henry Hub benchmark prices. Apache would sell US LNG developer Cheniere Energy about 135mn ft3/d (1.4bn m3/yr) of gas for 15 years for production from Cheniere’s proposed expan- sion at its Corpus Christi LNG export terminal in Texas.
