Falling gas buoys German demand

Falling natural gas prices led to fuel switching in Germany, where power sector gas burn averaged 5.1GW in June, up from just 3.2GW in June 2018, while coal-fred output fell to 3.6GW from 6.1GW. UK CCGT output averaged 12.6GW in June, up from 12.5GW a year earlier.
