At baseline, mean HbA1c levels ranged from 8.9% (attention control group) to 9.4% (standard care group). Mean change in HbA1c levels was less in the GlucoWatch group than in the other groups at 12 months (mean difference vs standard care 5.7%, 95% CI 1.4 to 10); groups did not differ at 3, 6, or 18 months (Table). Groups did not differ for the proportion of patients who had ≥ 12.5% relative reduction in HbA1c levels at 18 months (range 15% in GlucoWatch group to 27% in CGMS and attention control groups, P = 0.26).
