Earlier this week, the USA imposed sanctions on Iran's energy, shipping and shipbuilding, and financial sectors - in a move that is expected to have a negative impact on Iranian oil and gas exports. In what it said was its largest ever single-day action targeting Iran, the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned more than 700 individuals, entities, aircraft, and vessels.
