Qingyuan is a city located between the central and northern regions of Guangdong Province. It is a big city for agriculture, and is also known as the back garden of Guangzhou. However, at the beginning of this century, it had accepted an industrial shift and lowered barriers to entry for new businesses, which brought in high level of economic growth. At one point its GDP was growing by 30%. However, with the expansion, came a whole raft of environmental problems.
