Arctic exports surge in 1H

Crude exports from Russia outside the Transneft system rose by 11.9pc on the year to 967,000 b/d (23.23mn t) in January-June, driven by higher arctic supplies. Gazpromneft shipments through the Umba foating storage tanker - moored in Kola bay, near the far north port of Murmansk - were 12.3pc higher at 218,000 b/d (5.44mn t), ports statistics agency Morcentre-TEK says. Gazpromneft exports Novy Port Light and Arco crudes through the Umba, but does not provide a break- down by grade. BP, Shell and Total trading arm Totsa are buying Novy Port Light and Arco under long-term contracts this year.
