Independent frms eat into Pemex diesel imports

Diesel exports to Mexico from the US Gulf coast fell last year, but truck and rail shipments are on the rise. Gulf coast distillate exports to Mexico amounted to 233,000 b/d last year, 6pc lower than a year earlier, according to data from the US EIA. Waterborne deliver- ies were 140,000 b/d last year, compared with 196,000 b/d in 2018, oil analytics frm Vortexa estimates. Higher diesel production at state-owned Pemex's refner- ies pared back some import demand, while the Mexican government's anti-theft measures helped boost stocks and reduce black market activity.
