Limited demand hems in some markets

US direct-delivered coal market prices moved in mixed direc?tions this week as soft US demand outweighed prospects of additional exports for some markets. Domestic coal market conditions appear to have ended 2017 on more solid ground than in 2016. The US Energy In?formation Administration this week reported that coal plant stockpiles dropped to 143.1 mn short tons (129.9mn metric tonnes) at the end of the November from 170.3mn st a year earlier.
