Riga biomass throughput falls in 3Q

Wood pellet and chip loadings at the Latvian port of Riga fell year on year in the third quarter, owing to a lack of heating and industrial demand and a delay in vessels. The port loaded 406,000t of wood pellets in the third quarter, a fall of 14.5pc on the year and 23.5pc on the quarter. And wood pellet loadings sank to 87,000t in September, a 31-month low.
