摘要

The Japanese government has started discussing potential measures to reduce biomass power generation costs to ensure continuous and stable operations even after the country’s feed-in-tarif (FiT) support scheme ends. The trade and industry (Meti) and agriculture and forestry (Maf) ministries yesterday formed a cross- government group to study the best way to reduce biomass fuel procurement costs in the domestic market, which accounts for around 70pc of total power costs, while ensuring stable and sustainable supply of the fuel. The study group will also seek expert advice from industry associations and academic institutions.
