Polaniec shutdown curbs Enea 3Q biomass power

Polish utility Enea’s biomass burn decreased in the third quarter as the dedicated 225MW unit at its Polaniec plant was shut down for six weeks. Enea’s biomass-fred power generation fell by 29pc on the year to 392GWh in the third quarter, the company said in its third-quarter fnancial report on 26 November. Its Polaniec biomass unit, the largest dedicated unit in Poland, produced 262GWh of power in the third quarter, down by 40pc on the year. The unit was shut for a six-week maintenance between late June and early August, Enea said in its disclosure within the EU’s Remit regulation. Comparatively, the unit had a shorter maintenance shutdown in April-May 2019.
