Thai wood pellet exports hit July high

Thailand's wood pellet exports reached a record high for July despite weaker buying demand from independent power plants (IPPs) in South Korea. Thailand exported 29,811t of wood pellets in July, an increase from 1,472t in July 2017, Thai customs data show. The dramatic year on year increase came as higher international wood pellet prices have motivated Thai suppliers to divert wood pellets from the domestic market or produce more for export.
