Japan's Joban shuts Nakoso coal power unit

Japanese power wholesaler Joban Joint Power has shut the 250MW No.7 unit at its Nakoso coal-fired power generation plant in northeastern Fukushima prefecture because of a technical problem. Joban - a venture led by Japanese utilities Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) and Tohoku Electric Power - halted operations at the No.7 unit after detecting a steam leak in its boiler tubes. It is unclear when the unit will resume operations.
