The amount of heat generated under the UK's non-domestic renewable heat incentive (RHI) subsidy scheme in February was the lowest for the month since 2015 despite cold weather, as tight supply and high pellet prices curbed biomass burn. Across the scheme, 309GWh of additional heat was generated and paid for in February, a decrease of 45.4pc month on month and down by 22.9pc from February 2017. This was the largest decline from January to February since the scheme began in December 2012. Around 12pc more heat has been generated in February than in January over the last six years.
