Danone to install biomass boiler at NZ factory

Global food company Danone will install a biomass boiler at its dairy processing facility in Balclutha, on New Zealand’s South Island, it said this week. The boiler will have steam capacity of 20 t/h and run off “locally sourced, sustainable wood waste products”, Danone said. The wood will be sourced from local forestry operators, of which there are four within a 50km radius of the Balclutha plant.
