Port of Riga biomass throughput rises in 1H19

Wood pellet and chip loadings at the Latvian port of Riga rose year on year in the frst half of 2019, as Scandinavian biomass demand frmed and Baltic forestry operations recovered. The port handled 936,000t of wood pellets in the frst half this year, an increase of 61pc on the year. And pellet loadings reached 127,500t in June, up by 2pc on June 2018.
