Prostomidae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) - a New Family to the Fauna of Bulgaria

Family Prostomidae, genus Prostomis, and species P. mandibularis are recorded for first time from Bulgaria. P. mandibularis, characteristic of decaying heartwood of rotting wood lying undisturbed on forest floors, is a species of conservation importance and indicator of use for assessment of natural old and wellpreserved broad-leaved woodlands.
