Medical Glass-filled resin used in surgical staple fixation system

A 50%-by-weight glass-filled polyarylamide (PARA) resin from Solvay Specialty Polymers has been used by Instratek to mould components for a staple fixation system for surgical procedures on the feet and hands. According to Solvay, Instratek chose the resin -called Ixef 1022 - because of its high strength, stiffness and mouldability.
