Across the world, a large number of patients undergo knee, hip or dental replacement surgery. Such surgeries are very complicated to carry out and also lead to several problems after the surgery such as increased chances of infection, persistent pain or stiffness, nerve injuries and sometimes even complete rejection of the implant by the patient's body. A lot of research is happening in this area largely driven by government funding in order to find a solution. Another big concern is the growing increase in the number of aging people who are more susceptible to such problems.
