摘要

The first time a person goes, it is sensory overload. You're blown away by everything you see," said Tim Schuler, the New Jersey State Apiarist. "Most of the people in the villages have no electricity, no running water. They sleep on bamboo mats in ahouse made of mud bricks. Most have thatched roofs. It can leak when it rains."Women travel miles each day to retrieve water, then hours preparing a simple maize meal over an open fire. Malawi is an African nation halfway around the world; one Schuler admits he'd never heard of when he was first invited by a veterinarian in his beekeeping class five years ago. He's since fallen in love with the place and the people.
