摘要

This study explores violinists' judgments of instrument quality and the adaptation of the players' musical performances to vibrotactile feedback. Actuators and sensors were integrated into an acoustic violin to create six vibration conditions for an experiment with eight participants. It was shown that the vibration conditions affected the players' judgments of instrument quality with regard to sound and playability. One condition in particular improved the judgments of the instrument's sound quality, while other conditions received controversial ratings caused by systematic differences in the players' preferences. Finally, an influence of the vibration conditions on the median value and variance in the force that the violinists exerted onto the fingerboard with the fingers of their left hands was observed during a scale playing task.
