Total adds voice to Nigeria LNG Train 7 warnings

Nigeria LNG Train 7 is looking ever more uncertain with Total adding its doubts as to whether the project will go ahead. As previously revealed by AOG (see 5 March) even before the current downturn rumours had started to circulate of problems following a lengthy period of inactivity despite the final investment decision having been made at the start of the year. Consortium member Total holds 15% in the Shell operated project. It has now added its own warning saying that: "NLNG shareholders approved at the end of 2019 the launch of a plant extension project for an additional capacity of around 7m tpa, construction of which should start in 2020, subject to discussions in progress with the NNPC on the stabilisation of the fiscal framework and after the closing of the project financing."
