Cote d'Ivoire extends gas fields for new power plants

Cote d'lvoire has renewed contracts for a series of gas fields off the country in order to supply new power plants. Over the last quarter, the country has secured financing for its two major gas-to-power projects, Azito and Atinkou. The Council of Ministers has now signed decrees to renew the exclusive exploitation authorisation for four gas fields: Foxtrot, Mahi, Manta and Marlin - all in Block CI-27. The decrees extend each authorisation by 10 years in order to ensure "the stable and continued supply of gas to the new power plants Ciprel 5 and Azito 4 and guarantee national power supply sufficiency."
