Total is to drill a deepwater exploration well off Angola later this year as it decides exactly what to do with the Chissonga project. The company bought out the field on Block 16 with last year's US $7.45 Bn purchase of Maersk Oil but reserves are currently seen as uncommercial as a stand-alone development.
