Sonangol aiming for 'resurgence of oil projects by 2019'

Angola's Sonangol used OTC in Houston to promote the Cobalt blocks and try and tie down new investments from Total, Statoil and Chevron while promising to start using the two drillships on order from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) next year. The national oil company has been attempting to persuade several operators to use the US $1.24 Bn pair of drillships that were ordered from DSME in 2013. The pair were primarily to be used for exploration with the first to be delivered in 2015 but exploration halted and Sonangol was unable to pay.
