Sierra Leone gives AP extra time to find deepwater partner

Sierra Leone has agreed to give extensions to African Petroleum (AP) in the hope that revived interest in deepwater will enable it to attract partners for drilling. Both the country and company have hit hard times. Sierra Leone only has two operators left with AP the only one with offshore acreage while the company itself has lost a raft of acreage across West Africa as it was unable to fund its commitments.
