Sierra Leone extends round to garner extra interest

Sierra Leone has extended the deadline for its licensing round as it tries to entice operators into taking the acreage where all of the recent deepwater drilling has been conducted. Bids for the five block round were due to be submitted at the end of June but the petroleum ministry said that: "Following an extended election period, resulting from the run-off between the two main political parties, the government of Sierra Leone has decided to extend the close date of the country's Fourth Licensing Round to the 27th September 2018."
