Angola entrants hold talks to make Cobalt FPSO commercial

Cobalt Energy is in talks to sell its pre-salt discoveries to new entrants to Angola and believes the government will ease fiscal terms to enable a larger FPSO project to become commercial. The US independent has been trying to sell its 40% interest in Blocks 20 and 21, including the Cameia project, after the US $1.75 Bn sale to Sonangol fell through. However, the licence to exploration acreage on Block 20 expired at the start of this year and over Block 21 in March.
