Prequalification starts for Total East Africa pipeline

Total has now received expressions of interest from a series of keen contractors for the export pipeline to take crude from Uganda to the coast in Tanzania. Gulf Interstate Engineering began work on front end engineering and design in January with work to be finished in late August and the French operator is now moving ahead with the next stage for the 1,443km pipeline. Total invited the expressions of interest for the engineering, procurement and construction management contract on the East Africa crude oil pipeline (EACOP) in late May with a deadline date of 12 June.
