VAALCO Energy has added reserves in its Etame acreage off Gabon but results from the successful appraisal have downgraded the reserves expectations for a development well to follow. The South East Etame 4P appraisal wellbore was drilled from the South East Etame North Tchibala platform. It encountered up to 2.0m bbl of oil and no H2S, which has been an issue in the acreage. A development well is now being drilled and will be followed by the South East Etame 4H development well. The prospective resources for this have been halved to a maximum of 2.0m bbl as a thicker oil column was exDected in the 4P well.
