CNPC US $45 Bn Niger-Benin pipeline

An agreement has been signed for a new US $4.5 Bn pipeline to export crude to the coast at Benin from land-locked Niger.Last year the government of Niger gave new tax breaks for CNPC's Agadem block which will accelerate development work and allow for exports.CNPC has now signed a transportation convention with the government for the 2,000km long Niger Benin Export Pipeline from the Agadem Rift Basin to Seme on the Atlantic Coast.The pipeline will have a capacity of 90,000 b/d and,of the total,687km will be in Benin.This will be CNPC's largest ever cross-border crude oil pipeline investment and the convention sets out the contractual terms under which the pipeline will be constructed and operated.
