Chariot advances Morocco shallow gas project funding

Chariot Oil & Gas has trumpeted advances in the funding for its Anchois gas project off Morocco. Last year the company took over Repsol's abandoned shallow water discovery believing there was adequate demand from local markets to make it commercial. The 423 Bcf find was made around 40km offshore in 1,230ft (375m) of water and was included in a newly drawn Lixus block which includes other prospects. The original discovery well was suspended as a potential producer (see AOG 9 April 2009).
