Gabon awards seven new blocks

Gabon awarded seven new blocks and renewed several others, saying that its revised hydrocarbons code had revived interest. The state has a licensing round ongoing and Petronas recently took two new deepwater blocks but Assala, Perenco and Sin-opec have now taken the new blocks. The blocks, which include a commitment to US $250m in investments, are for acreage in the Ogooue Maritime province covering approximately 2,830sq km.
