OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this study is to characterize and assess the diagnostic utility of sonographic features of minimal-fat angiomyolipoma (AML) and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with regard to small ( 4 cm) renal masses with a predominantly low signal intensity (SI) on 12-weighted MR images.
