Some seminal plasma (SP) is included in bull semen doses for insemination, which may have a detrimentaleffect on the uterus. Since SP from bulls of lower fertility had an adverse effect on cultured bovine endometrial epithelialcells (bEEC) compared to SP from bulls of higher fertility, it may be possible to modulate the cytokine response byremoving SP from the semen of low fertility bulls or by replacing it with SP from high fertility bulls. Such manipulationmay improve fertility in dairy cattle bred by artificial insemination.
