With the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in January 2016, businesses around the world breathed more easily under the relaxing of primary and secondary sanctions that had become layered as significant penalties against would-be traders with Iran. Now, within the wake of continual U.S. criticism of the Iranian government, much of the commercial world takes a long, deep breath as we once again face potentially crippling penalties associated with commercial activity with Iran.
