What's one of the biggest challenges faced by ILMA manufacturing members? Over the past five years, ILMA has asked that question through its annual advocacy survey. Without exception, our manufacturing members named health care as their top concern. That's no surprise. Last year, employer-provided health care surpassed $20,000 per family, an increase of 5% over 2018, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. On average, employers bore 71% of that cost. While there were hopes that Congress would somehow control the costs, that has not occurred and is unlikely to be successfully addressed in the future. One silver lining that emerged is President Donald Trump's executive order allowing associations to develop health care plans. With all that's transpired in 2020, you may have missed hearing about ILMA's new offering.
