摘要

Tremendous growth in technological development in the area of materials and engineering which has very high in demand to replace existing materials to newer one without affecting the mechanical properties of the individual material. In this work, aramid fiber (kevlar fiber) is combinedwith natural fibers (kenaf and neem) in order to investigate the effect of machining parameters like material removal rate, surface roughness using abrasive jet machining process. In this process input parameters like abrasive flow rate, feed rate of the nozzle and stand-off distance has beentaken to optimize the input parameters with four levels has been taken to repeat the process for repeatability. The output parameters are material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (R _(a)) is recorded with the help of Taguchi method and ANOVA has been analyzed to optimizethe machining parameters for better result. It has also been concluded that the abrasive flow rate plays a significant role in obtaining the desired output results followed by the other parameters. This confirms that the increase in kinetic energy of the particles increases the performanceand the quality of cut.
